Roadwork Updates for Lackawanna, Wayne Counties for the Year Ahead
I’m excited to announce a number of transportation projects scheduled for the 2026 construction season in the 40th District. This week, we are focusing on projects in Lackawanna and Wayne Counties covered within my District. I plan to do a similar recap of Monroe County construction projects in an upcoming newsletter. These projects are critical investments in our local roads and bridges, improving safety, reducing congestion, and making travel more reliable for the families, businesses, and first responders who depend on this infrastructure every day. PennDOT District 4, under the leadership of District Executive Jonathan Eboli, continues to play a critical role in maintaining and improving our regional transportation network. I appreciate their partnership and ongoing coordination with my office to ensure that the needs of our district are being prioritized. As construction gets underway, residents can expect to see the following upgrades to key roadways and bridges throughout our area: Lackawanna

Mental Health Matters: Peer Support Programs
As Co-Chair of the Senate Mental Health Caucus, I know how important strong community partnerships are to supporting mental health and recovery across Pennsylvania. This month’s Mental Health Matters highlights the Pennsylvania Peer Support Coalition (PaPSC), a statewide network of individuals who use their lived experience to support others on their recovery journeys. Through advocacy, training, and education, PaPSC empowers peer professionals and strengthens recovery services throughout the Commonwealth. Organizations like PaPSC play a critical role in ensuring that recovery voices are heard and that individuals have access to the support they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives. The dedicated peer professionals and volunteers who make up the PaPSC continue to play a vital role in strengthening recovery-focused services throughout Pennsylvania. Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit
As many of you finish filing your taxes, I want to remind you about the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit. This was a bipartisan effort the legislature worked to expand to provide real relief to working families. Nearly 1 million Pennsylvanians are eligible to receive money back, but with just a couple weeks left before the filing deadline, only about half have claimed it. If you qualify, this credit could put hundreds of dollars back in your pocket. This is money that can help with everyday expenses like groceries, housing, and childcare. If you are eligible for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, you automatically qualify for this program. Scenes from the 40th Senate DistrictThis week’s photo is courtesy of Elise from Moscow, showing a bear just waking from hibernation. This picture has been shared on my social media and posted to the 40th Senatorial District Photo Gallery. Interested in showcasing your photography skills? I am inviting residents of the 40th Senatorial District to share their photography and help capture the beauty and character of our community. Whether it’s a stunning landscape, a lively community event, or a cherished historical landmark, I encourage you to submit photos that highlight the unique aspects of our district, which includes parts of Lackawanna and Wayne counties, and all of Monroe County. During my last tele-townhall, it was a pleasure to speak directly with so many of you. We covered a lot of important issues – from school property taxes, to energy, to local government, and data centers – these conversations are valuable in my work for you. I am hosting my next Telephone Town Hall on May 20th at 11AM. You will have the opportunity to listen from the comfort of your own home, or wherever else you may be, and ask questions or share your concerns with me. Visiting Western Wayne Middle SchoolI had the opportunity this week to visit Western Wayne School District as the VIP Guest for YES! Day! This was a great chance for me to speak with students about the importance of career learning activities, as well as what has gotten me to where I gratefully am today. Thank you again for having me! Celebrating New Business: Gi Valentine Skin TherapistThis week I had the pleasure of celebrating, along with the Pocono Chamber of Commerce, the grand opening of Gi Valentine Skin Therapist, located on the main floor of The Wise Building-2390 Rt. 611, Scotrun (right below my office).
