Earlier this week, I sat as a panelist at PA State Association of Township Supervisors’ annual conference. As majority chairwoman of the local government committee, it is beneficial to hear directly from our township leaders and share the legislative initiatives from Harrisburg. Of course, it is always wonderful to see our township officials from the 40th district. 😁

I am hosting a FREE License Plate replacement event at my Northern District Office, 487 Cortez Road, Jefferson Township, PA 18436, for those who have a damaged plate on April 25th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM.
Damaged plates have loss of reflectivity, peeling, blistering, or discoloration, and are unreadable from 50 feet away. Stop by this event to have your license plate checked.
The Jefferson Township Police Department will determine if the plate needs replacement and help with appropriate paperwork. There is no fee for this service. Once submitted to PennDOT, the new replacement plate will arrive by mail to your home address.

Last night, the @esuniversity Political Science and Economics Department hosted their induction ceremony for their honor society students (Pi Sigma Alpha and Omicron Delta Epsilon). As an alumni and honors society inductee, Mackenzie from my staff, was invited to be the dinner’s Keynote Speaker. Mackenzie graduated from ESU with both a bachelors and masters degree in Political Science.
Congratulations to all the students on your achievements and induction yesterday - I wish the best and continued success professionally and personally.

Passed the House !!! 🎉🇺🇸 Today, Paul Miller’s Law (SB37), passed the PA House with bipartisan support - this is a milestone in the several years I have worked on this bill. Pictured is Eileen Miller - Paul’s mother and champion for this legislation. Also pictured is Rep. Ed Neilson, another champion and the House Transportation Chairman. Thank you both for your invaluable work.
SB37 would limit the use of handheld cell phone use while operating a vehicle - drivers can still use their phone, as long as they utilize “hands-free” technology (Bluetooth, speaker, etc.)
The bill must go back to the Senate for a concurrence vote before it heads to the Governor’s desk.

Drivers can still utilize their cellphone, but it must be through Bluetooth or speaker technology. I was able to read a story and to help bring awareness to the need for affordable quality care and education for children and families in our area. Thank you so much again for having me! ❤️📚

A special shout out to @mystlukes Monroe and team Dr. Robert Malcolm for providing exceptional care for my colonoscopy this morning. ❤️ Thank you! What an amazing team! (only a few pictured here with Dr. Malcolm).
Colorectal screening is the best way to detect colon cancer early and a colonoscopy is the gold standard. It is recommended that you get a screening at 45 for normal risk and if you have had an immediate family member with colon cancer that you screen at 40 or 10 years younger than when that family member was diagnosed.

📣 Today, I announced more than $2.5 million in grants is being awarded for local transportation improvement projects across Monroe, Wayne and Lackawanna counties. The grants, awarded through Commonwealth Finance Agency’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, are to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of the Commonwealth ‼️
Grants were awarded to the following municipalities:
Westfield North, LLC (Smithfield Township PA)
Jermyn Borough
Honesdale Borough
Covington Township
Archbald Borough Administration & DPW
Pocono Township
Roaring Brook Township
South Canaan Township
