What an incredible turnout at the 2024 Annual Senior Expo!🎉 With over 80 vendors, the event offered door prizes, health screenings, and so much more. I was thrilled to have welcomed hundreds from across the 40th district. This event allows seniors to learn more about available resources, speak with representatives from agencies, ask questions, and raise concerns—all in one convenient location. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event a success! 🏆❤️

I am thrilled to announce a major step forward in reopening Route 611 in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area! After extensive discussions, PennDOT and the National Park Service have agreed on a temporary solution to install a rockfall barrier, which will allow traffic to flow through part of the affected area. 🛣️
“This is a critical step in restoring accessibility and alleviating the hardships faced by our residents and businesses. While this is a temporary fix, it is an important move toward a permanent resolution.”

Our state budget makes historic investments in schools, adjusts education formulas, and builds accountability. The state funding increase in education continues my commitment in bringing more dollars to our schools to ensure quality education and lessen our reliance on local property taxes.

A month ago today, my bill, Senate Bill 37 was signed into law.🎉Senate Bill 37, named Paul Miller`s Law, works to make Pennsylvania roadways safer by limiting the use of cell phone use behind the wheel.📵
Paul Miller Jr. lost his life to a distracted driver on Route 33 in Stroudsburg. His mother, a tireless advocate, was with me every step of the way through this process, ensuring her son`s legacy will be a beacon of protection for every driver in Pennsylvania. 🙏❤

⚠️INSIGHTS TO THE ONGOING DISUCUSSIONS⚠️
The devastation this extended closure has had on our community cannot be overstated. To put it simply, there is a multitude of government agencies involved with competing interests, which has severely stagnated a path forward. I wish I could snap my fingers and individually make this happen. I have been extremely vocal and active in pushing each entity in being a team player and thinking of the greater good and needs of our community. I do believe the agencies are close to a creative solution to alleviate this closure.

Today marks a significant step forward in our efforts to support the many Pennsylvania families affected by Alzheimer’s Diseases and Related Disorders. 💜 After two years of dedicated work, my bill, Senate Bill 840, passed the Senate.
This bill is in response to the countless constituents who have contacted my office, grappling with the heart-wrenching reality of Alzheimer’s. Just as these families have shown their steadfast dedication to their loved ones, it is time for our state to demonstrate the same level of commitment.
The bill now moves to the House of Representatives for consideration.
