Last night, there was a devastating fire at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Dickson City. I want to thank the amazing work of our local first responders from the 40th Senate District who answer the call time and time again, as well as all the hospital staff and more who helped this desperate time have a sense of direction. β€

From preserving the Union to advancing the cause of freedom, Lincolnβs leadership in one of our countryβs most difficult moments continues to shape who we are and remind us of the responsibility we share to uphold the principles of liberty, equality, and unity. β€ His words and example still matte, and they still challenge us to do better for the generations that follow. π€

While the Borough ultimately has the final say, I`ve shared a letter with Stroudsburg Borough Council recommending they consider transferring their authority to the courts to fill their mayoral vacancy. This step would play an important role in restoring public trust.

On Monday, Brooks from my staff and I were able to lend a hand at The Wright Center for Community Health`s first Soup Day at their Scranton location! π² It was a great day to hand out soup to the local community and offer support for those who need it through the simplicity of a hot meal. π€
