During this year's budget hearings, I questioned the Secretary of Health on my legislation to support Pennsylvania's with #Alzheimers.

There has been significant work behind the scences on my proposal, SB840, which would establish a permanent ADRD Committee within the Dept of Aging to better address the Commonwealth's response to this growing health crisis. I am pleased to see the advancement of this legislation in the Senate and the support of my collegues in the House and Senate.

Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a significant day in American history, marking the end of slavery. The day a Union General arrived in Galveston, Texas announcing the enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth marks a monumental step towards the fulfillment of the freedoms and liberties outlined in our founding documents - working towards these promises to ALL Americans, “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.”

In 2019, Rep Sue Helm’s legislation, House Bill 619 was signed into law, officially recognizing Juneteenth as an annual observance for the Commonwealth. I was pleased to co-sponsor this legislation and see it signed into law. ❤️💛💚

🌺 Honoring the Heroes of D-Day 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to remember and honor the courageous soldiers who took part in the D-Day invasion on June 6, 1944. On this day, 80 years ago, brave Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy, marking a pivotal moment in World War II and changing the course of history. 🙏

Their valor, sacrifice, and unwavering determination in the face of immense adversity serve as a powerful reminder of the cost of freedom. These heroes, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice, fought not just for their countries, but for the liberation of millions and the triumph of democracy and peace.

Let us take a moment to reflect on the bravery of those who served and the countless lives impacted by their actions. We owe them a debt of gratitude that can never be repaid, but we honor their legacy by remembering their stories and striving to uphold the values they fought to protect. ❤ 🇺🇸

After more than a decade of dedicated work to enact this legislation, the passage of Senate Bill 37, Paul Miller's Law, marks a monumental victory for Pennsylvania. This measure will protect drivers, prevent crashes and save lives.

Senate Bill 37 - Act 18 of 2024 - limits the use of handheld cellphones or other communication devices while operating a motor vehicle on Pennsylvania highways. Drivers can still use their phones if utilizing hands-free technology such as a docking station, Bluetooth or speaker technology.

Meet Rosemary Brown

Northeast Pennsylvania has been my home since I was five; my husband, Joe and I, have raised our three children here and are grateful to live in the beautiful Pocono Mountains to enjoy the unique opportunities this portion of our state has to offer.

The foundation of my life has always been centered around God, my family, and doing my best each day. While I never promise perfection, I do promise hard work and care for our community with an extremely grateful spirit. This is how I truly try to live my life, but it also makes me a better public servant for you.
