Healthcare has always been a very important part of my work in the legislature, from expanding access to care and supporting families to addressing mental health and advocating for better outcomes across Pennsylvania. 🤝
Earlier this year, my midwifery modernization legislation was signed into law, and I’m proud of the work we’ve done to help strengthen maternal health care access in the commonwealth. 🤰 I also founded and co-chair the Senate’s first Mental Health Caucus because I believe we need to continue making mental health a priority. 🧠
I’m grateful for this recognition and, more importantly, grateful for the opportunity to keep working on issues that affect the health and well-being of Pennsylvanians. ❤

Yesterday on the Senate floor, I introduced Senate Resolution 365, designating September 2026 as Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Month in Pennsylvania.
This is a cause that hits close to home for me. Several members of my family have been impacted by PKD and, thankfully, received successful kidney transplants from fellow family members.
I’m proud to bring this resolution forward in honor of the many Pennsylvanians impacted by PKD. I hope it helps shine a light on this disease and encourages greater awareness, research and support for those affected.
WATCH: I’m the ONLY legislator in Harrisburg to have initiated a vote on a three-year statewide moratorium on data center development.
During a Senate Local Government Committee meeting, I offered an amendment to gut and replace Senate Bill 1345 with the moratorium language Senator Muth and I sponsor in Senate Bill 1359.
I had a great visit to the CTC of Lackawanna County yesterday! It was great to tour the hands-on programs, take a spin in the automotive hybrid trainer, and even meet “Hal” in the practical nursing simulation lab! 😄

As a member of the @pawomen, I have worked to advance important legislative initiatives that support women, mothers and families across Pennsylvania.
This year, my Midwifery Modernization legislation, Senate Bill 507, was signed into law, expanding access to maternal healthcare for mothers and babies. I also advocated for the expansion of Pennsylvania’s Child and Dependent Care Enhancement Tax Credit. This expansion increased the maximum benefit from $630 to $2,100 per family and, in 2024 alone, delivered $136.5 million in tax relief to nearly 219,000 working families across Pennsylvania.
This #ThrowbackThursday, we`re going back to 2022 when I enacted Act 56 of 2022, which authorized financial institutions to create incentive-based savings programs to encourage individuals and families to save money.
