EAST STROUDSBURG – Sen. Rosemary M. Brown (R-40) announced today the upcoming paving of Route 209 – a project long requested by the community and essential for enhancing local infrastructure. The paving will extend from the Price Chopper in East Stroudsburg to Municipal Drive, covering a crucial segment of the busy thoroughfare.
“After years of hearing constituents’ concerns and the dire need for improvement, we are excited to move forward with this essential project,” said Brown. “This effort will not only improve daily commutes but also enhance safety and accessibility for all who travel this route.”
The project is slated to begin during the 2024 construction season with completion expected by Oct. 2024. The initiative went out to bid last year and a construction start date is expected soon.
“We are committed to making this a smooth process and to minimizing any inconvenience to the public during the construction period,” Brown said. “I will do my best to keep the community informed and engaged as we progress.”
Residents and travelers can look forward to a much-improved Route 209 by the fall of 2024.
