Monroe County Upcoming Road Work
As we enter the spring and summer construction season, road work is ramping up across Monroe County. This time of year brings important improvements to our local infrastructure, with projects focused on enhancing safety, upgrading aging roads and bridges, and improving travel throughout our communities. While construction can bring temporary delays, these investments are critical to maintaining a strong and reliable transportation network for our residents. In the weeks ahead, you can expect to see increased activity on key roadways across the county as these projects get underway. Take a look at the following upcoming road work provided by PennDOT District 5:
Meeting with Lackawanna County Emergency ManagementI had a very productive meeting with Lackawanna County Emergency Management Agency and the 911 Center on Monday to discuss various areas of concern for the agency. Thank you to Director Taylor and the team for having me today for the productive discussion. The Emergency Management Agency is responsible for the judicious planning, assignment and coordination of all available resources in an integrated program of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery for emergencies of any kind, whether from enemy attack, man-made or natural resources. The Lackawanna County Emergency Management Agency is also responsible for organizing all locally available manpower, supplies, equipment and services necessary for disaster emergency readiness, response and recovery. Also great to recognize National Dispatcher Week with this visit! It is such an important job that typically goes unnoticed by many, but we could not function without them! Attending Jessup SesquicentennialI was honored to attend the Jessup Borough Sesquicentennial Celebration, marking 150 years of history, community, and tradition. It was a wonderful opportunity to join residents, local leaders, and families in celebrating everything that makes Jessup such a special place. From its proud industrial roots to the strong sense of community that continues today, Jessup’s history is a testament to the hard work and dedication of generations who have called the borough home. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this event possible and to the entire Jessup community on 150 years!
