Op Ed: Residents Deserve a Voice in Pennsylvania’s Data Center Future

Sen. Rosemary Brown speaks into a microphone in front of a dark background, looking out at the crowd.

Over the past several months, I have heard from countless residents who have concerns about proposed large-scale data center developments in northeastern Pennsylvania. While many recognize the potential economic benefits these projects may bring, they also have important questions about impacts on our electric grid, water resources, infrastructure, traffic, noise, and overall quality of life.

I share these concerns, which is why I have supported a moratorium on hyperscale data center development until stronger safeguards are in place to protect residents and local communities.

Brown Promotes First-Time Homebuyer Legislation

Sen. Rosemary Brown poses for a photo with members of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors after speaking to them at their Harrisburg event.

It was great meeting with members of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors to discuss housing affordability and my legislation, Senate Bill 803, the First-Time Homebuyer Savings Account Act.

This bipartisan bill will help Pennsylvanians save for the purchase of their first home by creating dedicated savings accounts designed to make homeownership more attainable. As housing costs continue to rise, we need practical solutions that help families achieve the dream of homeownership and build a stronger future in our communities.

Happy Father’s Day!

Wishing my father a wonderful Father’s Day – thank you for your endless love, support and smiles. And to my husband Joe, the father of our children, thank you for all your continued support, love and dedication to our family.

Happy Father’s Day!

Newest Eagle Scout: Nicolas Petroff

Sen. Rosemary Brown stands with Eagle Scout Nicolas Petroff, congratulating him on reaching this great accomplishment. They are both holding a Citation from the Senate of Pennsylvania, standing in her District Office.

Congratulations to the newest Eagle Scout of Troop 89, Nicolas Petroff! Nicolas was kind enough to stop by my office so I could personally present him with this Citation from the Senate of Pennsylvania!

Nicolas chose to give back to his community by leading a revitalization effort at Little Park in Paradise Township, the same park where he created his own childhood memories. As project lead, he secured partnerships with local businesses for materials and directed the design and construction of a 20-foot octagon gaga pit. In addition to the build, he oversaw the beautification of the surrounding playground and added a storage bench near the pit.

Congratulations again on this great accomplishment Nicolas, I know you will go far!
