Acting Secretary of Health Visits the 40th Senatorial District

This week, acting Secretary of Health, Dr. Deb Bogen and members of the Depts. of Health and Environmental Protection visited East Stroudsburg University and the PA Tick Research Lab to learn more about the amazing work and research they do for our Commonwealth.

I know many of you, like me, truly value the outstanding work of the Tick Research Lab – they continue to contribute valuable research to the scientific community and also provide information to Pennsylvania residents who find a tick on them.

Have you been bitten by a tick? Visit ticklab.org to analyze the tick for Lyme and Tick-Borne diseases. I worked diligently to make this service FREE for Pennsylvania residents.

PennDOT Survey Open Until Oct. 20

What do you think of PennDOT’s construction and maintenance services? Motorists have until Friday, Oct. 20, to provide feedback via an online survey.

The 24-question survey asks respondents how they receive PennDOT roadway information and how often PennDOT meets or exceeds expectations regarding construction and maintenance services. Respondents are also asked about experiences with reporting concerns to their department, and whether or how they use the state’s 511PA traveler information services.

Out and About Listening to You

TOP LEFT: Congratulations to Rachel Moyer, who was awarded the A. Mitchell Palmer Award for outstanding community service. Rachel is a tireless leader and has dedicated her Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness after the passing of her son, Greg, at 15 years old. Rachel partners with me on legislative efforts to improve access to automatic external defibrillators.

TOP RIGHT: Stopped in this week to Magnolia Inn & Wellness Center in Mt Pocono. What a stunning facility with a variety of spa and wellness services. They even have a lovely café with coffee, tea, and pastries. This Sunday, October 15th – they are celebrating their 1 year anniversary from 11 AM – 5 PM. Enjoy live music, refreshments, and more!

BOTTOM LEFT: Please join me in congratulating Andrew Hawks and Steven Blannard as they achieved the rank of Eagle Scout! They have been friends for years and both are from Troop 84 and shared their official ceremony. So proud of both of you for your commitment to being your best in service to others and yourself.
