Brown to Serve on Advisory Council for Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center

HARRISBURG – Sen. Rosemary Brown (R-40) has been appointed by Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward (R-39) to serve as a member of the advisory council for the Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center.

“The Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center is a central part of Lackawanna County, where our American heroes are comfortable and able to enjoy an active, fun lifestyle while being honored every day for their service,” Brown said. “I am humbled to ensure those residing at the veterans’ center continue receiving excellent care, and thankful to Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward for entrusting me to serve on its council.”

Established in 1994, the center is named after a World War II hero from northeastern Pennsylvania who received the Medal of Honor. Residents benefit from an active lifestyle with a daily agenda filled with organized programs and activities that the residents help to plan and execute.

“We will never forget the Pennsylvanians who served and sacrificed for our nation, and one the best ways to honor their service is providing facilities that promote healthy and active lifestyles with proper supervision and care,” said Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward. “I am pleased to appoint Sen. Brown to serve on the advisory council for the Gino J. Merli Veterans’ Center as she will be an asset and positive voice for the council as they continue to serve our veteran community.”

Brown will serve on the advisory council through Nov. 30, 2024.
