MONROE – Sen. Rosemary M. Brown (R-40) will be formally recognizing local hero Scott Buchanan tomorrow, July 26, at 3:30 p.m. at her district office located at 2398 Route 611, Scotrun.
On June 22, a tractor-trailer overturned and caught on fire. In a remarkable act of bravery, bystander Buchanan risked his life to save the driver trapped inside. Buchanan watched the situation unfold and did not hesitate to act. He jumped onto the hood of the trailer, removed the windshield and pulled the driver to safety just minutes before the vehicle was engulfed in flames. His swift and selfless response undoubtedly saved the driver’s life.
“In moments of crisis, everyday heroes remind us of the extraordinary courage that is within us,” said Brown. “Scott’s quick thinking and fearless action exemplify the very best of our community. It is an honor to recognize Scott’s heroism today.”
Brown will present a citation from the Senate of Pennsylvania to formally recognize and document Buchanan’s heroic act of bravery.
