Brown Announces New Farmers Market, Offering Community Resources

LACKAWANNA ā€“ Sen. Rosemary M. Brown (R-40) announced a new farmers market this Saturday, Aug. 17, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Jefferson Township Fire Department, located at 405 Cortez Road, Jefferson Township.

The market will feature local produce vendors, basket raffles, community resources and senior vouchers, which will be accepted by the vendors. In collaboration with the event, the Wright Center will be providing free health screenings to help address food insecurity in the region.

“This farmers market is an opportunity to not only support local vendors but provide resources that address food insecurity and health concerns,ā€ Brown said. ā€œIā€™m proud to collaborate with the Wright Center in this important initiative to ensure our residents have the support they need.”

The event is free and open to the public.
