Yesterday on the Senate floor, I was honored to speak in recognition of Lincoln Day and reflect on President Abraham Lincoln’s lasting impact on our nation and Commonwealth.
From preserving the Union to advancing the cause of freedom, Lincoln’s leadership in one of our country’s most difficult moments continues to shape who we are and remind us of the responsibility we share to uphold the principles of liberty, equality, and unity. His words and example still matte, and they still challenge us to do better for the generations that follow.
