I joined my colleagues in the Senate and beyond yesterday to highlight the near unanimous passage of SB 1014 in the Senate, a bill I proudly have co-sponsored.
This is an Act amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public-School Code of 1949, in student supports, providing for bell-to-bell phone-free policy. In simple terms, this would institute a bell-to-bell student cellphone ban in schools.
With this legislation, we aim to regain our kids’ attention and ensure our investment in education is truly realized by making our schools phone-free. SB 1014 now moves on to the House of Representatives for consideration.
